Defeatocrats

If you needed to hear it from the horse's own mouth, and what you've heard so far hasn't been enough, now there is proof. The Democrats want America to lose in Iraq. Their political strategy depends on it and they are more concerned with using the war to gain more power than in seeing America's enemies defeated in the War on Terror.

In an interview with the Washington Post, House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn (D. SC) stated that a positive report from General Petraeus would be "a real problem for us." Read more

Can you believe it? Unfortunately I can. The Democrats see continued hardship in Iraq, which means more dead American Soldiers, as good for their efforts in Washington. Folks, they are rooting for the enemy. They'd rather have Iraq as a political issue than see AQI defeated there. It is utterly despicable that men and women in our government are so openly pulling for the enemy.

Clyburns worry is that good news out of Iraq, something that is already happening, could split Democrats over the issue of a timetable for withdrawal of troops.

I recall several years ago listening to a tape of an American crooning on Japanese propaganda broadcasts during WWII: "It's so terrific in the Pacific; the Japanese are doing very well..." Were that happening today, it seems that the Japs would have an entire American political party lining up to sing their song.

Standing Up To CAIR!

The Council of American Islamic Relations (or is it the Committee of American Islamic Radicals, which has ties to terrorist organizations, has done its best to intimidate the media, government officials and John Q. Public into accepting their agenda. An agenda that seems to be one of denying that Islam has anything to do with terrorism and making it harder for us to identify and stop future terrorist attacks.

Most recently, they threatened the Young America's Foundation with legal action if they allowed Robert Spencer to speak at their National Conservative Student Conference in Washington, DC. You can find a copy of the threatening letter from CAIR's lawyers here.

So, did YAF cave in as so many others have over the years? Did they roll over and play dhimmi as the Islamists have demanded? NO WAY!
