Sharia In The West Bank

World Net Daily has an interview with Hamas militant Sheik Abu Saqer who cautioned that non-Muslims in the Gaza Strip must be ready to accept life under Islamic Rule if they want to be permitted to live in peace. Yep, it's dhimmi time for Gaza. The article mentions that Christians in Gaza have already faced escalating violence and persecution, but I doubt the MSM will give it much coverage.

This was to be expected, we all know exactly what kind of society these people envision. We are seeing a dark evil advancing and the West seems unwilling to muster the strength to stand for what is right. In fact:

Former President, and icon of the dhimmicratic party Jimmy Carter seems all in favor of the Hammas takeover according to recent comments in Dublin. After accusing the US of violatiing human rights Carter says we should give aid to Hamas, who plans to impose Sharia at the point of a gun. Well, if anyone knows how to back down in the face of Islmaofascist agression its good old Jimmy. I'm not quite ready to say he favors radical Islam over Western Civilization, but I'm beginning to lean in that direction.

Pray for the Christians in Gaza, and throughout the Muslim world. While Hamas members become martyrs by murdering for their faith, Christians become martyrs by remaining faithful under persecution, even to the point of death. I fear many in Gaza will become martyrs.

One final thought. The militants claim that freedom in the West has led to immorality and the destruction of the family. They have a point. When freedom is protected, there is certainly an opportunity to choose the immoral over the moral and society often pays a cost for allowing that freedom. But can any behavior be considered moral under Sharia when a person does not choose morality out of devotion and conviction but out of fear?

Only in a free society can people truly enjoy the fruits of a moral life that they have chosen for themselves. Indeed, it truly builds values and character to choose the moral options in the face of so much opposition. The Muslim fanatics' version of morality is hollow and perverted. There can be no morality when no one is free to choose the right. As it is, the fruit of life under Islamism is proof that there is no morality to be found there.

In the closing paragraphs of the article, Hamas Chief Mahmoud al-Zahar referred to comments by Prince Charles (during a true dhimmi moment): "He spoke about Islam and its important role in morality and culture. He said the West must learn from Islam how to bring up children properly and to teach them the right values."

What can Islam teach us about bringing up children properly and teaching them the right values? Perhaps this is what he had in mind:

Muslims Outraged (So What Else Is New)

OK, we all know the routine. A western nation does something (or in some cases doesn't do anything but it is reported that it did)that offends Islam or its noble prophet. People in the Muslim world get upset and start engaging in acts of violence and inciting violence.

This particular time, it was our friends the Brits who did the offending. Seems that England has awarded author Salman Rushdie a knighthood and the Islamofascists are a bit upset. You will recall that Rushdie, back in 1989, authored the novel The Satanic Verses, which raised the ire (when is it ever not raised?)of the Muslim world and earned him his very own death sentence fatwa from the Ayatollah Khomeni.

The Muslim world never forgets an offense (real or imagined) and never (not ever) forgives. So, the decision to bestow this honor on Rushdie has led to the usual scenes of Muslim outrage. Here are a few links to more on the story:

The Brisbane Times reports on the outrage in Pakistan, with a nice photo of some members of the Religion of Peace burning the British flag. According to the article Rushdie was burned in efigy to chants of "Kill him, kill him."

The story also contains this gem:
As Pakistani MPs demanded that the award be withdrawn, the Religious Affairs Minister, Mohammad Ejaz-ul-Haq, said on Monday: "The West always wonders about the root cause of terrorism. Such actions are the root cause of it.

"If someone commits suicide bombing to protect the honour of the prophet Muhammad, his act is justified."

Zee News reports that an Iranian group known as (I love this name) the organisation to commemorate the martyrs of the Muslim world, has offered an 80,000 pound bounty to anyone "who was able to execute the apostate Salman Rushdie."

The simple fact of the matter is, the Muslim world is really upset because there are non-muslims walking around on the earth. And it really gets their undies in a knot that many of those non-muslims live comfortably in the west as opposed to in backward hell-holes like they do.

Quite frankly, I don't care that the Muslims are offended. What else is new? I have some news for them: The civilized world (i.e. most of the world since at least the seventeenth century) is slightly put off by strapping suicide belts on kids, chopping off the heads of reporters, stoning rape victims, hanging girls for "indecency," and general barbaric nonsense. I'm still feeling a bit perturbed by the memory of seeing thousands of my fellow Americans massacred on 9/11 then seeing Muslims dancing in celebration. I'll tell you where you can put your offended sensibilities!

But, what really sickens me are the dhimmis in the West who just don't get it. They would rather cave in to these evil bastards than stand up against their demands that we cater to their whims while they slaughter innocents at will.

Get a load of some of the opinions sent in to the Daily Telegraph. Here are some samples:

Sir - Who was the idiot who nominated Salman Rushdie, the darling of the literary luvvies, for a knighthood (report, June 19)? Surely anyone with an iota of common sense must have realised that bestowing such an honour on a man who is loathed and detested throughout the Muslim world would lead to trouble?

In any case, Rushdie does not deserve to be so honoured. It has cost this country a fortune to protect him 24/7 from assassination after the fatwah was issued against him following the publication of his The Satanic Verses. This award is the equivalent of poking around in a hornet's nest. Let's hope the Government makes it clear to Rushdie that his protection must be paid for out of his own pocket.

Robert Readman, Bournemouth, Dorset

And

Sir - The decision to award the knighthood should earn its originator the clown of the year award or worse. Our Government does have the right to award honours as it sees fit, just as councils have the right to authorise pork butchers to open besides established mosques. The question remains: is this a good idea for race relations?

The average 10-year-old could work that one out, but the collective wisdom of the Government appears to be inadequate to the task. Have our leaders become so unsubtle that they no longer recognise a distinction between the legitimacy of a right and the wisdom of exercising it?

Ian Mutch, London E11

Unbelievable! These people would rather cave into a band of murderous butchers than stand for such a basic cornerstone of civilization as freedom. Thank God the Brits were made of a bit more back during WWII when they weathered the blitz with the declaration that "London can take it!"

What other freedoms would they be willing to surrender for the sake of temporary safety from Muslim outrage? Face reality folks, if it wasn't a knighthood for Rushdie this month, it would be some other excuse next month. We all remember how the Muslim world erupted after the imam orchestrated rage over the Danish cartoons and the false reports of Korans being flushed down toilets. The fact is that their only reason for hating the West is that there are people there walking and breathing who do not share their twisted, sick, pathetic worldview. Until we all convert or die there will always be a provocation in their minds. Stop trying to appease them, it will never happen!

UNsurprising

I have always contended that UN should be pronounced phonetically to emphasize what a pathetic joke it truly is. Thus, UN Peacekeeping becomes Unpeacekeeping. The UN Human Rights Commission is the Unhuman Rights Commission. Perhaps most appropriately, UN Resolution becomes the aptly named Unresolution.

Now we have the Unenvironment Prgram (UNEP, sounds like inept). Lucianne linked to a fun story from Norway's Aftenposten. It seems that the director of the UNEP, Achim Steiner, needed to get to Norway to present an award for sustainable tourism to that nation's Environment Minister. Well, he got there via a private jet!

That's right, seems that UN officials (sorry, Unofficials) suffer from Al Gore syndrome when it comes to being green. In fact, according to the article Gore and some of his wealthy supporters also recently visited the nation via their own carbon spewing private jets.

Steiner said there was no other way to get there in time for the presentation. Oh, I see, that makes sense. "I had to be on time to give a sustainability award so getting there in perhaps the most unsustainable way possible is justified. After all, I was doing it for a good cause." Besides, Steiner said it was "a very little jet." Not kidding folks, he really said that. And thank God it wasn't just a "little jet," but in fact it was a very little jet!

Oh, he also bought a "climate ticket" to offset the greenhouse gasses emitted during the trip. As I said, its Al Gore syndrome. While these liberal elite hypocrites preach about how our working class lifestyles are destroying the planet they just buy their ecofriendliness. Just for that, I'm throwing my soda can in the garbage instead of the recycling bin.

Was Modern Islamism Founder A Lying Sack of ...?

I will admit up front that I have never directly read the writings of Sayyid Qutb. But, I have begun listening to the Audiobook version of The Looming Tower by Lawrence Wright, and I was struck by several mentions of Qutb's writings about America and the time he spent here.

It seems clear to me that Qutb was a sociopath and habitual liar whose incredible bias and inflated sense of superiority caused him to invent out of whole cloth much of what he wrote about America and Western Society.

Take for instance his recollection of the day Hasan al-Banna, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, was executed in Egypt. At the time, Qutb, who was a student in the US, was recovering in a hospital from a tonsillectomy. He claims that he heard the sounds of celebration outside and inquired of a doctor what was going on. He was informed that:
"Today, the enemy of Christianity in the East was killed."
Give me a break! Are we to actually believe that in 1949 Americans actually knew or cared enough about Hasan al-Banna to begin celebrating in the streets the news of his death? When has such news ever inspired celebration in American streets? Maybe in backward cultures such as his own they did; in fact they still do. Indeed, Wright calls attention to the unlikelihood of such celebration in his book.

That clear exageration makes other descriptions of American life and people seem colored by bigotry and perhaps Qutb's awareness of his own perversion and its conflict with Islamic morality. On several occasions he talks about the loose morals of America and mentions being propositioned by strangers for sex. He wrote about the women of America:
...who knows full well the beauties of her body, her face, her exciting eyes, her full lips, her bulging breasts, her full buttocks and her smooth legs. She wears bright colors that awaken the primitive sexual instincts, hiding nothing, but adding to that the thrilling laugh and the bold look.
Sounds to me that he was a bit turned-on and so had to exaggerate the looseness of women to justify his growing Islamist hatred of the West. Does anyone else find it interesting that Islamists, who claim to be so moral, are motivated in part by the promise of carnal pleasure in paradise?

Then, I have found an interesting article from NPR about Qutb's view of his once host country. In later writings, he flat out made up a chronology of US History.

The fact is, by the time Qutb visited America and benefited from its education and health care system he was already a hater of Jews, and developing an Islamosupremacist outlook on the world. This caused him to willingly lie and exaggerate what he perceived as the evils of America and the West.

I find it especially interesting that he claimed to have witnessed and been appalled by a racially motivated beating in America, yet he and his modern day disciples were and are willing to resort to incredibly brutal methods to gain power and enforce Sharia in their demented vision of an Islamic utopia.

Qutb's philosophy is a cornerstone of modern Islamofascism, yet the man was clearly a hypocrite and a liar. It makes sense that terrorists revere someone like him.
