The Fifth Column

Yesterday, as I was listening to the Attorney General's press conference regarding the arrests of the Florida terrorists plotting to "kill all the devils we can," I was intrigued by his comment that "they were persons who, for whatever reason, came to view their home country as the enemy."

They are not alone. The New York Times has once again exposed secret programs intended to assist law enforcement in busting open terrorist cells and preventing attacks. Cindy Sheehan has referred the throat slitting swine in Iraq as freedom fighters. My own Senator Dick[head] Durbin has compared our soldiers to Nazis and communists. The fact is that the entire liberal establishment views our nation as the enemy!

It was notable that as the two major newstalk stations in Chicago carried the press conference I switched over to Air America and they were ignoring it. Apparently they don't want their listeners to know that we have an enemy other than the Bush Administration.

I can't put into words how sick and tired I am of the left playing politics with this issue while our men are facing what is arguably the most barbaric, brutal and souless enemy our nation has ever encountered. While our forces struggle and strive against the foe, they sit in Washington and tell the world that our cause is a lost cause and it is time for us to cut and run. Such words can only encourage the enemy.

It is one thing for the leftist whack jobs to be protesting and opposing our cause, but when sitting members of Congress do so it is inexcusable. The simple fact is that the Democratic Party is the party of the leftist whack jobs, by the leftist whack jobs, for the leftist whack jobs.

The sad fact is that whether the MSM and the Dems believe it or not, the enemy they are providing aid and comfort to would just as readily slit their throats as mine or any American soldier. While they congratulate themselves on being wise and knowing that our policies are the root causes of the discontent that breeds terrorism, the fact remains that it is the terrorists own theology that causes them to hate us. This is about Islamofascists carrying out their faith and not about Israel, the colonial past, capitalist exploitation of the third world, racism, or any other "root cause" the left can summon out of their warped imaginations.

We need to fight the enemy at home as well as the one abroad.

Pattishub Returns!

A little history for my first post in the re-birth of Pattishub.

I authored a tiny little blog for a little over a year where I ranted about my political views and I had gathered a small readership. But, alas, life got very busy and the blog was left to languish for weeks without updates so I decided to delete it. That was, in retrospect, a mistake. My URL was soon being used as the address for a site that served as a link to "adult" (an utter misnomer) sites. I spent a few weeks letting fellow bloggers who had linked to me know that they should remove those links so as not to direct their readers to offensive content.

This morning, I discovered that my URL is again available! Life remains hectic, but I hope to make a little time to return to this hobby of blogging. As I attempt to re-build Pattishub I hope to reconnect with old blogfriends and make a few new ones. It is good to be back.
